LUIGI MONTEFOSCHI and MANUELA VACCARO
Punto critico di equilibrio stabile
disturbing images, the loneliness and alienation of man confined to urban and post-industrial decay, dialogue with the paintings and installations where Nature is primary
bipersonal exhibition photography/painting
Opening October 5 at 6 p.m.
Critical point of stable equilibrium.
Humanity is at a critical point of stable equilibrium. Beyond is chaos, but there may exist a new lease of life ... man is immersed in a barren landscape, created by himself, where anthropogenic factors outweigh natural ones, totally integrated into a suffocating and decaying urban skyline, like the opulent western countries of the world.
Continents exploited, abused, raped, ravaged…, disfigured cities, format, unusable to most people, privilege for few. Oppressed cities oppressing man who has engineered, designed, constructed them and altered according to his image. Urban landscapes crush and imprison a man who can no longer see himself anywhere but there, convinced of the rightness of his own slavery ... people and places used and thrown with the same ease and speed of objects.
People without ethics, places without beauty, without history or culture, a culture that, day after day lose respect for women, the pursuit of beauty as a value, as well as the Western countries lose ethical and aesthetic references, history and traditions, exploit and pollute the Earth. The exhibition unfolds along a path that goes from the photographs of Luigi Montefoschi: disturbing images in which we perceive clearly the loneliness and alienation of man encapsulated and confined inside dilapidated urban and post-industrial realities; to the paintings and installations by Manuela Vaccaro where you can feel a sense of peace and harmony, women's history, ancient female divinities, trees, leaves, flowers made from recycled plastic, cloth, paper, recovered mirrors symbolize the natural elements, and ideally lead the viewer into a paradise pristine, inhabited by female figures representing the sacredness of Mother Earth.

Manuela Vaccaro (Statement)

Born in Naples in 1970, engineer, Manuela Vaccaro paints since her childhood. Since 2007 she attended the course of Tullia Matania, at the Ugo Matania cultural association, working with pencil and charcoal on paper, oil and / or acrylic on canvas.
A widely figurative painting vocationally communicative, which emphasizes the otherness of the woman expressing the refusal of repressive instincts largely present in the male world, proposing the development of the sexual body, the emphasis on the roles or "masks" that evoke existential conditions of recognized actuality. Through the use of varied colours the research emerges aimed at overcoming a self-consciousness of conditions and subordinate roles, articulated with a creative and dynamic – moved at the same time by formal pictorial intent and emotional feelings. The use of various techniques provides appropriate compositive supports and chromatic stimuli to effectively match the messages conveyed.

Manuela Vaccaro presented in July a major solo exhibition entitled Paradise Lost curated by the Gallery Monteoliveto in the Hall of Prisons of Castel dell 'Ovo, with sponsorship of the City of Naples.

Montefoschi and Vaccaro are resident artists of the gallery since 2009 and they participate in numerous important art fairs and events in Italy and abroad with our gallery.
Luigi Montefoschi (statement)
Luigi Montefoschi
Born in Naples with a degree in electrical engineering, his work range from traditional photo, digital and related processing to photo and mixed media painting and video. "It took me two years to make sense of my photography beyond the techniques tested and used. To explain the way, we have to start from the painting by Umberto Boccioni, 1911, "Simultaneous Visions". It is easy to find similarities between the kind of image portrayed and my pictures and this comparison brings with it the demand-claim that some painters have made me, "but your photos seem like paintings, why don’t you paint?". From my side, apart from not being able to paint, I've never been able so far to give an answer, but the need to photograph. "

Luigi Montefoschi participated in the 2007 Italian Photography Prize Arte Laguna and was a finalist with work published in the Terna 01 Award in 2008. In 2011 his interesting bipersonal photography exhibition with our gallery in Naples entitled "from chaos to entropy" with the Spanish photographer José Gallego.

I-C has, moreover, the ambition to foster the artists' wish to bring forth fresh and contemporary concepts capable of both challenging the spectator emotionally, and supplying interesting impulses - or merely visual satisfaction - so as to showcase the fine products of the Italian art scene.
In the city that - in the last few years - has arguably become the symbol of the contemporary art scene, Infantellina Contemporary wishes to represent a cluster for all lovers of Italian art. Thanks to I-C, the Italian art tradition and the city of Berlin come to merge into an explosive mixture.
Infantellina Contemporary Gallery[ I ][C] is a gallery born from the requirement of the owner, P. Charlotte Stein-Infantellina, of having a real exposition space, creating a platform to carry foreward a positive message, through the choice of the artists and the selection of the works, stimulating the active interaction with collectors, attaché’s to the activities, institutions and artists also.
Infantellina Contemporary [ I ][C] gushes from the star of the aesthetic and organizational flexibility; the departure point consists in proposing, nearly exclusively, young even if asserted, Italian artists and a selection of emergent Italian talents, spacing between the several artistic techniques, and additionally special-guests with international provenance.
Infantellina Contemporary [ I ][C] has the ambition, being the birthplace of tomorrows stars, to give them a chance to be able to explain fresh and contemporary concepts that can involve the spectator emotionally, supplying reflection cues and - on the other hand - just simple visual satisfaction. Having a vision projected towards the future rather than to describe plans realized in past, we prefer to invite you to estimate personally, and hope you’ll follow us in this different adventure and maybe the next artist on his way to the Olymp.

05. Oktober - 16.
